How not to diet!

Updated: Feb 3, 2020

Sick and tired of trying different diets. Confused about calories? Bored of missing out? Read on!

It doesn't have to be this way!

There's a lot of confusing and misleading information out there about dieting and do you know what? It's designed that way to keep you confused as the diet industry is built on a repeat business model.

Just the lettuce for me!

We are nearly at the end of January, I am sure I am not alone in feeling that January has rather dragged! If you are one of the people who has been going through a bundle of self-imposed restrictions as your New Years' Resolutions than you must be ready for it to end! This, for me is one of the problems of #dieting the endless restrictions! The more you deny yourself something the more you think about it!

Dieting (verb)

"To restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight"

Sounds simple right? Boring but simple. But is it?

How many diets have you tried? #slimmingworld #weightwatchers one I particularly dislike the #cambridgediet the rather unhealthy #atkinsdiet the rather odd #cabbagesoupdiet there's no shortage of them. Some are complicated, some are expensive, some are frankly ludicrous but they all have one thing generally in common. They don't work. Not really. Not long-term. Not in terms of #fat metabolism, not in terms of overall #health.

The biology of fat loss

See us humans actually quite like fat, at a biological level that is. Think of your distant ancestors and how, biologically, they needed fat as insulation and energy. Our internal biology hasn’t changed that much since then, what has changed is our external environment.

Does our biology understand that we are surrounded by an excess of food or that we have created a situation where we barely need to move to access that food?

Dieting and Fat

One of the biggest contradictions of dieting is the damage it can do to metabolic activity. Restricting calories actually slows the body down, making you less metabolically active and more likely to store fat long-term. That weight you're losing is not likely to be all fat!

If dieting worked, consider this; since the launch of the diet industry both global obesity and diet industry profits have both risen year on year.

What to do

As a Nutritional Therapist I have worked with hundreds of clients over the years - nearly all have initially been for some form of weight loss support. My approach has always been to show people the true impact of food for health. Weight is a feature of course but until you address your #health you can forget about effective #weightloss.

Not Your Average Weight Loss Course

With this in mind I designed my #online #support course. I guide you through a series of modules showing you how you amazing body really works when it comes to energy and fat metabolism. I show you how damaging dieting can be to both your physical and #mentalhealth by supporting you with #emotionaleating food habits and food memories. There's two options one to have my individual support throughout and one where you access the videos and downloads only.

Both options will show you how you may have been lied to, misled with false claims or celver marketing. Made to believe some diet foods full of chemicals will reduce your weight whereas they may have created health issues, how negative food language and the 'scales of shame' can lead to low self esteem and poor mental well-being.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Join the course with me today!

I love showing people how amazing they are! How much better they can feel and helping people remove any negative food relationships (for life)!

Throughout February I have a Buy One Get one Free Offer on!

Modules and Downloads £37 - join with a friend and get a place free!

Plus you both get access to a closed Facebook group and a monthly webinar with me.

I look forward to supporting you & hope to see you soon.
